Possum products are an investment heirloom piece that will be able to be handed down for generations to come. By choosing New Zealand possum products you are choosing an ethical fur product which helps to protect our unique landscapes.

Possum Fur Throws/Blankets
Our Possum skins are sourced from within the Teviot Valley in Central Otago, and harvested from pest control.
The seams are sewn with expert tailoring techniques, the cotton is a waxed thread for strength and the backing fabric is 100% wool with a beautiful cashmere finish. This creates incredibly soft throws and cushions. Fabric covered buttons match the backing fabric. These buttons are a unique feature which anchor the backing fabric to the skins and enables it to retain its shape over time. This is a unique, handcrafted feature that supports the overall finish of each item.

Possum Fur Cushions
Our cushions consist of 3 x possum skins trimmed to size and includes the natural fibre cushion inner.
The back of each cushion is 100% wool, while the cushion closures are covered buttons using the same wool as the backing. This wool has a beautiful cashmere finish which beautifully complements the fur. This cushion is envelope style and is constructed with complete tailoring techniques. It is completely lined with industrial weight calico so there are no seams showing inside the cushion.
Please be aware that possums are a wild pest and skins are harvested from pest control so some skins may have a change in fur length, regrowth that comes from possums living wild, this adds to the uniqueness and individual characteristics of each item.

Wool Cushion Inners
Wool filled cushion inners, cushion casing constructed of industrial weight calico and water-based ink printing of the content label.
This cushion filling is 100% wool. Local wool which has been selected because of the supreme spring and bounce quality and with minimal pack down properties.
You will never discard this cushion inner, top-up wool is available for purchase. Wool cushion inners do not retain odour, body moisture, dust mites or other allergens.
This cushion was developed and designed to be 100% natural because the only inner available for purchase that was suitable was synthetic fibre. Designer Elaine was unwilling to promote her ”made of natural fibres” products using a synthetic filler so she purposely designed a “never throw away” natural cushion inner.
